Batch 2, 136.8 proof The nose is full of creamy oak with a side of hot baking spices. There is plenty of alcohol heat to make nosing it somewhat dangerous, but done carefully you can pick up rich nuances. There's slight floral notes along with ripe fruit, as well as touches of smoke and brown sugar. There's definitely plenty going on, which will become more evident as the alcohol dissipates. The palate is dry, yet rich and chewy, starting with a burst of creamy oak and caramel, along with a huge burst of peppery spice. This one definitely needs to breathe a little bit but with each chew you can still coax out smooth notes of brown sugar and vanilla cake. Some time to breathe tames the spiciness, bringing it down to a spicy cherry syrup, nicely complementing how creamy this is, while also bringing out toasted marshmallow. I finish is long and chewy with a wonderful richness left behind in the mouth. The heat does lean your for a while but it is perfectly balanced by the amount of creamy oak It also hangs out for a while.

Neck pour review Nose: decadent, burnt/caramelized brown sugar on the pan, chocolate bar. Dusty oak at the end Palate: absolute flavor bomb, where do i begin. Insane mouthfeel first and foremost. Root beer, cherry, spice. Typical bourbon flavors but dialed way way up Finish: toasted oak, baking spice, dark chocolate bar, espresso!!!!! Overall: incredibly bourbon, extremelt unique. Not an everyday sipper but warrants the premium price (both MSRP and secondady) 9 on the t8ke scale

Touch Of Grace 4.0

The palate is just as dark and rich as the color and nose of this whiskey. Dark rich sugars, molasses, brown sugar, and oak are so intense and rich that it is indescribable. The finish is long and flavorful. At 135.3 proof there is definitely a KY bear hug and my lips want to go numb if I take too big a sip. You know, it wouldn’t hurt my feelings at all if my dentist used this to numb me up for dental work.

This is some DARK whiskey! Reminds me of Dovetail if it was oak instead of rum. And yes, it’s hot…which makes sense at freaking 135.3 proof! It’s DELICIOUS if you add a little water to it. Glad I grabbed some. Certainly not a daily drinker (esp at this price) but something special. This just opened me up to trying 13th colony again in the future.

The nose is incredible, palate dark (molasses) and intense...maybe lacking more fruit notes, finish is long but a bit drying... there is a bitter coffee note lingering that knocked the score down for me. Incredible experience but definitely not an everyday drinker.

This coats your mouth from the first taste. I could literally taste the flavor tags each time i tasted it. It is one of the few bourbons that lights up every part of the nose and palate every time i drink it. It is one of the best bourbons i have ever had.
