A. H. Hirsch 1974 16 Year Reserve Straight Bourbon
About this bottle
Distilled in the spring of 1974, this out of production and highly sought after bourbon was distilled in the now closed Michter's distillery in Pennsylvania. This 16 year old bourbon was distilled in the Kentucky pot-still tradition, and is considered by many to be one of the best bourbons in existence. If by some chance you find this covered in dust on a shelf somewhere, buy it. Don't worry about the cost, it'll be worth it.

Oaky, sweet, vanilla. Very complex. Had this on a cruise, and my bartender gave it to us as part of a pappy van winkle flight. Unfortunately, I didn't make detailed tasting notes, so I'm doing this based off of memory. Get this if you can!
Don’t remember much but do remember that I really enjoyed the oaky funk coming from this. Not sure if it’s worth the hype but it’s damn delicious
The best bourbon I have ever had… nose - vanilla, oak, cinnamon, floral hints Taste - vanilla, toffee, mint, cinnamon
Not a huge fan of sour mashes. Notes of tar and baking spices are immediate. Long lasting mild sawdust flavor.
Menthol cigarette, buttercream, vanilla extract. Woodsy floor, old fashioned orange, low proof. Cedar, rye
