About this bottle
818 Tequila is a tequila brand founded by Kendall Jenner. The tequila is made by cooking the agave in brick ovens for up to 40 hours and then crushing them using a tahona. After fermentation, it is double distilled in pot stills. The reposado tequila ages in French oak and then blended with extra añejo tequila before bottling.

Tequila 818 reposado gets a lower score than its blanco counterpart. The flavors of the agave were completely diminished for only having been rested in a barrel for 8 months. On the nose we notice vanilla, lemongrass, oak, some astringency, and slight roasted agave. The palate showcases an overly sweet component of vanilla, whipped cream, oak, citrus, baking spices. Hints of roasted agave shine on the finish, but again that sweetness over powers most of the elements.

Let sit for about 5 minutes.
👀: Light hay with flecks of sunlight, legs aren't evident;
👃: Very sweet, almost like candy, unreal, confectioners sugar scent, no vegetal smell at all!;
👅: Very sweet (once again), no tequila at the outset, butter and cream, at the back end you eventually taste the vegetal;
🏁: Nothing but sweetness from beginning to end, unbelievable sweetness, this is too sweet to be tequila but it's damn good.

A complex Agave Spirit by NOM 1607.
It has an aromatic birth with notes of agave, wood, fruits, herbs & spices; while a rich & complex life added notes of caramel, vanilla, melon, tart green apple, lemon peel & golden raisin. that led to an herbal death of medium length with notes of oak, pepper, creme brulee & black tea.

Sweet nose of vanilla, lemon icing, white cake and a touch wood. There’s just the slightest hint of agave. Sweet and sugary on the palate, tasting of sugar, vanilla, cake and a touch of barrel spice at the back. Seems artificially sweet.

Very good tequila. Wasn’t on my radar as I am not a celebrity brand tequila guy. But 818 is absolutely delicious. Perfect sipping tequila.
