Appearance: Deep amber in the glass. Nose: Surprisingly restrained; faint dried fruit, hints of pear, touches of vanilla and caramel. Not smoky or peaty, more gentle than bold. Palate: Exceptionally smooth — almost too smooth. Sweet at first sip, with notes of dried fruit, pear, caramel, and vanilla. A touch of brine adds interest. Very light-bodied, refreshing, and endlessly sippable, though lacking standout complexity. Body: Thin and delicate, bordering on watery. Easy to drink but without much weight. Finish: Sweet with faint wood and brine, a clean exit that vanishes quickly. Overall: Impossibly smooth, easy to love, but leaves you wishing for more edges and complexity. ★★★½ --- A Poem for Aberlour 16 by Sophie Amber deep, yet quiet nose, A whisper more than tale it shows. Fruit and pear, a gentle trace, Smooth as water, fleeting grace. No harsh bite, no storm to fight, Just easy sweetness through the night. A fleeting sip, a ghost, a dream, Too polished, soft, a gentle stream.

Love this bottle with the extra wide cork. Nose is fruits galore, especially cherry and fig. It's been a while since I've had a Speyside, and forgot how gorgeous the fruit bouquets can be with these malts. On the palate it starts off sliky smooth, and drier than the nose would indicate. The wood notes are front and center with stone fruits and raisins playing harmony. The finish is lengthy and warm. The apple and spices really come through at this point, and you'd swear you just sipped a high quality rye. This dram does everything very well, but nothing spectacularly. Would be a great choice for introducing someone to Scotch (and subsequently ruining their life 😉

Needed couple of round to pin point the flavors. On nose: very pleasant, swril sniff the apple comes first, swirl and sniff again, caramel and oak comes next...and it keeps on. Little advice, do it when there are no kids around, this scotch needs quite 😉. On palate: smooth on first, tingy later. The sweetness comes first, then caramel and oak....then a small fire lite up 🔥. The taste lingers where dark chocolate is noticable, maybe fig. Love it for sipping, it is filling and rich, will not drink it on dinner table or holiday with friends. as said before, it needs an intimate quite surrounding to enjoy, one round is enough.

Nose: Honey, oak, toffee apple and vanilla, almost a slight smoky note but not quite Palate: Sweet and spicy, cinnamon, pepper, apricot, apples, cherry, caramel, slightly watery Finish: Short to medium, lingering cinnamon, apples and cherries Overall: A tasty dram but it's just a shade thin and I personally would like it to be a bit fuller, still thoroughly enjoyable though. I'm looking forward to trying the A'Bunadh at some point if this is their entry level whisky.

Pretty average sherried scotch, would be great for a new drinker. Smooth and easy sip with nice fruit flavors and a little tobacco, leather on the back end. Not much of a finish, almost “too smooth”. I found it to be not highly intriguing, but its a bottle essy to share with non-scotch drinkers, since it’s not overwhelming. In the same range I’d rather drink a Balvenie 12 or Oban 14, or a Glenmorangie 12. Good, but nothing outstanding.
