To me, Ardnamurchan has become synonymous with good quality and reasonable pricing. Yes, it’s a NAS, but the quality is there, not to mention their commitment to making whiskey using sustainable energy. And they have blockchain technology ! How cool is that? A $10,000 Macallan doesn’t have it ( which it should…those are the most counterfeited), but a $60 Ardnamurchan can afford it? So, this was a pour sent by @jonwilkinson7309. It’s a combination of 50% peated, 50% unpeated; in 65% /35% ex-bourbon / Sherry cask. Nose is citrus and minerals. A bit of wet stone. Light peat comes through on the taste, with pear , grapefruit and a bit of smoke. Really well made—and considering the price, it’s a no-brainer to keep around. Thanks Jon for the pour!

Nose is floral and wonderful on both cork and out the neck. In the glass nose goes harder, meaner - peat. Off the bat its peat but not overpowering, some nice spice - cool. Different. Add ice and it gets sweeter, obviously, and it’s approachable no matter the format. Good, cool, and a unique aspect. Smoke lingering.
This is an exceptional Scotch for the price; just an amazing value. The nose is sweet, reminiscent of wine or grapes, with a faint bit of honey and the slightest hint of peat. The palate is more honey and fruit with spice and a bit of salt. It has a medium finish, but the heat stays with you a bit longer. 46.8% ABV
Roasty, berries on the nose. Like sipping a big bold merlot by a wood fire in the fall, which I of course have never done. Maybe a little peach as well. Nutty, chocolatey palate. The berries fade back and earthy malt comes forward. It finishes good and long. Great little scotch.
Light peat aroma, very subtle. Peat flavors are more apparent on the tongue, but they are much more balanced than the punch of something like Ardbeg. Richness carries the smoke along with other stronger flavors, approaching barbecue. very well blended, super enjoyable.
