Wow!! This is my neck pour review and got to say, I love it. Granted I may be a bit bias as Balcones single malt is a household favorite. I tested first the smell of the whiskey in my hands, allowing the alcohol to dissipate and seeing what notes lingered. Got a strong coffee and chocolate flavor, very rich smell. Nose: Could be me but didn't find too many flavors standing out. Got a bit of caramel like a bourbon but something on the darker side. Taste: Strong smoke initially but not like a peated selection. Toffee, dark stone fruit, earthy, and hard to say but almost a small hint of licorice. I'm not a big fan of licorice but this was enjoyable. Follow thru: The taste from the start lingers with the smokey feel coating the palate, along with a dark chocolate. Very good, not overbearing and pleasant. Would be great with a medium to dark body cigar.

A bold and complex whiskey, aged for at least four years and bottled at 100 proof. The nose offers dark chocolate, toasted oak, and cinnamon, with hints of dark fruit. The palate is full-bodied, featuring molasses, caramel, and spicy rye, with a strong oak influence. The finish is long and warming, with lingering spices and cocoa. It's a rich, intense rye whiskey that stands out for its depth and robust flavor, making it ideal for sipping neat or in rye-forward cocktails.

Nose of rye, dark chocolate, horse blanket, oak, vanilla, honeydew melon, apple. Semi-spicy palate; vanilla, rye, mint, something akin to mezcal, cherry.

This one is interesting. Doesn’t drink like a normal Rye, it has a solid burn going down and then it just lingers on the backend. Pretty tasty
