Benriach Quarter Casks

Picked this one up at the duty free on Schiphol airport. I fell for the packaging and presentation of the whisky. I have a weakness for 46% ABV , no added colour or chillfiltration and I have had a really good experience with the Benriach 10 Curiositas. Very oily Scotch. Lots of oak on the nose, some tobacco as well. There's also a very subtle fruity note to the nose, green apples and lime. On the palate you get vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, coffee/cappuchino, toffee. The finish is medium long. A very unique Scotch, it tastes like lovely coffee ice cream in a glass. Very glad I picked this one up, cheers fellow addicts!

★★★★ Avent 2019 - 17/24. Avec une journée de retard, je m'occupe du whisky d'une de mes distilleries préférées, Ben Riach. Il y a longtemps que j'ai acheté une de leur bouteille puisque leurs produits ne sont pas accessibles en ligne et les choix de maintenant extrêmement limités. Dans cette version spéciale en "quarter cask", je retrouve la douceur mielleuse de leur scotch que j'apprécie tant... Je vais les rajouter sur ma "bucket list" pour l'an prochain!

Smell like caramel and honey, more or the burnt caramel. Once in awhile you get the hint of lavender or some flowering smell. Taste like sour apricot / apple. After taste is spicy and abit artificial. Not crazy about it, but still a good dram.

Alot of flavour upfront, a bit harsh out of the gate and finishes smooth

A bit sharp but still sweet vanilla.
