Benromach is currently my favorite distillery. Therefore, I was expecting more of this one. But this was somehow mild in flavor compared to what I experienced before. Ive got on the nose and palate a sweet smoke flavor, honey more pronounced in the palate and some sweet cereal. I’ll have to give it some time and come back to it later to see if it changed. It’s a good whisky, but it’s soft on flavors and the peat smoke is more punchy than what I expected.

Tasted at a Benromach tasting in Dornach, Scotland. Taste initially starts with a sweet fruit and a caramel flavor which quickly transitions to a medium strong smoke flavor. Medium long lingering in the palette allowing the smoke to continue, while the fruits and sweet slowly return.

Fruity peat. Pineapple aftertaste. Nutty, bit of honey, smoke
