Lightly peated. You definitely get the dry Syrah essence of the barrel finish, but there is an overbearing tannin-like texture to it that doesn't work. Feels like it was in the wine barrel too long. Tried it again with a cigar. Still the texture is overpowering, slightly funky and unpleasant.

Dark wood, chocolate, and fruit flavors on the nose. Same flavors on the tongue, I love how much chocolate flavor there is. Plenty of heat but it mixes well with the darker flavors. Unique taste, full and complex.
This was a late night taste with Jon and Ann after many drinks of Jura and ledaig 10. This was enjoyable I remember thinking but it didn’t stand out to me like the last dram of talisker 18.
Day 9 advent calendar. Tried neat. Super peaty on the nose & palate..maybe a bit much for me. To the nose.. notes of spiced prunes, grapes, raisins.
Schöner Antritt mit Früchten und Holz, dann leicht rauchig wobei der Alkohol dann angenehm begleitet. Zum Schluß bleibt leichter Rauch und Torf.
