A pretty old bottle.. maybe 7 or 8 years old. Neat. Visually clear and deep copper. Nose is sweet and fruity. Ripe stone fruit..cherry, apricot, plum..balanced with some herbal and grassy rye, some caramel and a little dusty oak and leather. Taste is pleasant. Lots of fruit flavors matching the nose, with a little hot cinnamon, black pepper, some tarragon/light anise herbal notes, with some vanilla and oak. Finish is sweet, with raisins and some spice. Overall, a prettier profile with the herbal fruit heavy notes. A nice try ror those who enjoy Four Roses., tho I give Four Roses a slight edge and also save 20 bucks

The nose is dusty corn and sticky caramel. Maybe a little grape candy thrown in too with some barn musk at the end. The taste is also dusty. Green and rye in the middle while soft and golden around the edges. Bit of stewed pear and hay maybe. Minus the dust, definitely feels like the edges are sanded down. Bit more bitey than i expected. More unique than other classic Bourbons. Not a game changer but definitely something interesting to keep around when you need a change of pace.

A rich, Tennessee sour mash bourbon by August Sebastianif for 3 Badge Beverages in Kentucky aged for 6 years. It has a sweet birth with notes of fruit, oak, chocolate, vanilla, caramel & spice; while a bakers life adds notes of yeast, cookie dough, dried apricot, ginger, cinnamon, charred oak & malted barley; that leads to a long & complex death with hints of corn & chestnuts. Theres great notes on the nose. Fudge. Sweet tarts candy. Maple syrup. Theres spice and oak and it all goes well together. The flavor profile is much more underwhelming. Dark caramel. Maple syrup. Oak. Theres spice and it hits a bit heavier on the finish. Not necessarily in a bad way, but its a bit one dimensional on the dark caramel, oak and spice. This isnt a bad whiskey. Nice bottle but its over-priced for what youre getting.

Taste when you first sip is a light caramel, then comes the what feels like the end of the burn then a surprising twist to an increasing burn like a hot pepper. Flavor was good. Very different tho from other bourbons. I would have to say its up there with the ones that are like a rollercoast. But not quite a rollercoaster, but unique just the same.

Its certainly different, and i get a particularly herbal/grassy feel from this bourbon. It seems a little thin with a short finish, and maybe it will grow on me over time. There are a lot of bourbons I’d reach for before this one, as i think the value on this is just not great.
