A fascinating whisky that had the room intrigued. Daniel the Master Distiller for Boplaas explained the journey: five years in bourbon barrels followed by a final year in 12-year-old tawny port casks. These seasoned port casks bring deep layers of flavour, developed over years of housing rich, fortified wine. The nose left me wondering—something truly unique that I couldn’t quite place. But the palate delivered beautifully: ripe plum and warm Christmas spices filled the mouth, finishing with a cozy warmth that felt like reliving a favourite holiday memory.
