Bulleit Old Fashioned Cocktail

I'll start by saying I typically use Bulleit when I make an old fashioned, so I figure why not try something that can save me a minute or two? This doesn't taste like Bulleit, it tastes like it hasn't been aged long enough. If I make one on my own, it's darker. It's a little sweeter than I like too. This tastes like a cheap bottom shelf old fashioned that you'd get at any dive bar, where they're trying to hide the cheap booze with a little too much sugar. Would not recommend.

I've been trying a few ready made mixed drinks and this is one of the best so far. It is not too mixed with flavors and not too syrupy to me. The Bourbon is not overpowered. The ABV (75 proof) is such that a single small glass is enough to mellow out with a cigar and then easily store in the fridge for later. This and the sister drink The Manhattan in the green bottle are 2 of my gotos at the moment. Quick non-watered down mixed drinks to just enjoy.

Totally serviceable ready-to-drink old fashioned. It doesn’t wow you, but not every cocktail you drink needs to. On ice, this seems a bit under-proofed, so probably best served stashing this in the fridge for a quick, cold pour.

Tastes like a great old fashioned. Clever use of orange bitters to give you the aromatic bitters flavor with the hint of orange peel you’d normally have in a OF. Easy pour for a derby party and $10 less than Schillers RTD

Does it compare to a handmade Old Fashioned: of course not. But when traveling it's the perfect compromise. I get my favorite drink in a single bottle!

Bulleit is a pretty good Old Fashioned base, so it's kind of weird that this is pretty mediocre. I think they need to dial back the sweetness.
