Fantastic pour. Loaded with notes of Cherry liqueur, berries, chocolate, toffee, treacle, spices, dates, figs, plums, raisins, honey, and nuts. Nose has some virgin oak influence alongside the sherry but the palate and finish are all canasta influenced so based on taste and website description this one likely used a higher portion of 36 Year canasta casks than 32 Year virgin oak casks. Simply the best whisky I’ve ever tasted. I like the sweet somewhat salty flavor of Bunnahabhain in general. I decided to try a dram at the distillery. Perfectly smooth throughout the tasting. A great value as compared to Bunnahabhain 30 year old.
