The barrel is relatively prominent, because it’s vodka, but not overkill. Nose of oak, black pepper, neutral spirit, potato, and a little greenery. On the palate slightly creamy and smooth, with soft oak, as well as vanilla and pepper. Some green herbs mingle with pepper and vanilla at the finish. Rich throughout. Quite a lovely vodka.
About this bottle
Chopin Family Reserve is made with estate-grown young potatoes (aka new potatoes) which were planted during the 2016 growing season. Four times the amount of potatoes are used here compared to its flagship Potato Vodka due to the low starch of young potatoes. After distillation, the vodka rests for two years in 50 year-old Polish oak. This limited edition vodka was released in spring 2019.

Not a lot going on on first nose, but c’mon...it’s a vodka! The taste, however, is unlike any vodka I’ve ever sampled. Sweet and peppery/spicy with subtle musty oak on the backend. Extremely distinct and sophisticated.
Thanks @Looneyhead Tried neat. Neutral spirit obvi. Not much to the nares aka, neutral. Itnis very smooth, especially for a vodka, on the palate but i like it.
