Some BT bourbon is overrated *cough* Weller 12 *cough* Eagle Rare*, but I think this one is worth it for < $80. If you've never had it and want to splurge on a rare bottle, go for it. 👃 So fkn nice. 10/10. It's like an ice cream cone with the perfect vanilla ice cream in it. It's not overly complex bc it doesn't have to be. Super accessible 👄 Interesting. I got a different taste on the roof of my mouth vs my tongue. Little spicier on the roof. Maybe that was just me. Still tastes considerably lower proof than it is, but somehow still lingers. Much of the same notes as the nose here. Maybe add some blueberries to the ice cream 🏁 Still so smooth. There is literally nothing offensive on this whole journey. If this was around for $50, it would be my daily sipper. Hopefully BT ramps up the volume on this one and it becomes easier to find, but it really is a good pour

My kids went to Kentucky with my in-laws and I was lucky enough they went to Buffalo Trace’s shop when they had this one available. What a great surprise to open this bottle and be amazed by such a well-balanced Bourbon! Compared to other BiB I tried, this one is way up there. The combination of sweetness and spicyness is great! On the nose, at first it seems like a cinnammon roll out of the oven. There’s a sweet bread, kind of donut combine with cinnammon. More nosing and I got cola, like root beer cola minus the extreme sweetness. And again, the sweet bread, vanilla cake with ginger feeling won’t come out of my nose. On the palate, it’s sweet like a red hot candy. Or maybe sweet first, brown sugar, molasses and then red hot. It finishes with cinnammon very present, but it isn’t uncomfortable. On the contrary, it’s very smooth! Slainte Mha!

This is my go-to bourbon of late. It's been three years since I last reviewed EHT Small Batch, but the notes are largely the same. Chocolate-covered cherries. Pipe tobacco. Vanilla. Tangerine. Caramel. Sweet. Some light viscosity on the palate. Nice cinnamon red-hot Kentucky hug on the back end, finishing long with more caramel and vanilla. For me, it's the tangerine + pipe tobacco element on the nose, and a bit less so on the palate, that makes this bourbon unique. It's differentiated. EHT Small Batch can be found for around $80. Would I buy it again? Yes. (This was the last pour of a bottle; only 1 left in inventory). 4.25 on the Distiller scale. Bottled in Bond. 50% ABV.

A rich, Bottled in Bond Bourbon Whiskey by the Buffalo Trace Distillery in in Frankfort, Kentucky crafted using the low-rye mash #1; aged for a minimum of 4 years in new American oak & bottled at 100 proof. It has an aromatic birth with notes of grain, stone fruits, flowers, wood & spices; while a thick & rich life adds notes of fresh popped corn, almond butter, fudge, caramel apples, tart fresh cherries, pumpkin spice, butterscotch & cinnamon; that led to a balanced death of medium length with notes of oak tannins, elderflower & vanilla crème brûlée. Warm, sweet and slight cinnamon on the nose. Maybe a little tobacco, very pleasant. Very rich and smooth vanilla ice cream on the tongue, and long caramel sweetness on the back-end. It does not taste like its proof at all, and i actually think the proof keeps it from being a total dessert. Its delicious, and a little bit different from the bourbons i have been drinking lately. Very smooth, the caramel finish is excellent. Highly recommend.

Nice viscosity, some of the best legs I've seen a whiskey leave on a glass. Sweet aroma, some vanilla and marshmallow, but not a lot of depth on the nose outside of those few, similar notes. Easy sipper. The sweetness in the aroma transfers to the palate up front. Slight burn mid palate that transitions to a little leather note with sweetness coming back. Medium finish. Very enjoyable, glad to see it is becoming findable again.
