Nose is black berries, caramel, vanilla, slight anise. Palate charrred oak, more dark berries, fills the mouth with flavors and the berries are what are predominant to me. Finish is first short and slightly drying, then returns with berries , then oak slightly later. Interesting it comes to me in waves. Very nice whisky!! My only complaint is slight astringency, presumably from the advanced age. It was minor, but present enough to bug me. This was a sample I received from a friend
