This is another that I tasted when I was on bed rest due to a sprained calf last weekend. I had my fiance source a few drams for me to try while laid up. I wish we could thread our tasting notes here to give you the backstory but I will spare the details and get right into the notes: Nose: Strong alcohol and not a lot more comes through Always a little disappointed when that happens as I really want to be able to nose out some notes but alas, this one just had alcohol burn. Flavor: Very creamy mouthfeel with notes of apple, vanilla, and smoke. VERY smokey. Slight cinnamon and clove on the aftertaste which lingers a little. Pretty good stuff but not something I would seek out to purchase although if the price point were good I would keep it on hand. I did appreciate the full creamy mouth and that it had some nice distinct flavors where the nose was seriously lacking. Ratings have nothing to do with cost - just my impressions.

Part of a Dancing Goat Distillery virtual tasting, received 2 oz free sample Nose - Honey, green apples, black pepper, citrus cleaner, clove, allspice, mint leaves, light eucalyptus, light oak, and light ethanol. Palate - Spicy black pepper, sharp grain, light honey, green apple, clove, and mint. Finish is short with dry rye grain, oak extract, clove, and very light golden apple. Not bad, but the palate fades immediately after a short burst of pepper. I wouldn't purchase a bottle myself, it's too light for this price range.
This is for the 6 year version. Nose of vanilla and green apple. Spice on the tongue followed by some rye with a great, smooth mouthfeel. Finishes with light oak and a lasting warmth. The rye is not as strident as I'd expect, but it's not a bad thing.
The nose is soft with hints of vanilla, rye, brown sugar, molasses and dark fruit. These carry over into the palate, but with less vanilla and more rye and dark fruit notes. The finish is short to medium with lingering rye spiciness.
Rye is immediately what you taste the entire time. A nice spice and a good burn, it tastes perfect for what it aims to achieve. If you want a Rye-y Rye that warms you up this is your pick. 45 dollars or cheaper is my value estimate
Nose: very light, vanilla, European oak, red wine, rye Taste: overly European oaked, underwhelming rye, sweet at first then disappears Finish: oak
