About this bottle

This expression consists of 2 rye whiskeys from MGP in Indiana — one with a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley — the other 51% rye, 45% corn, and 4% malted barley — initially matured an average of 5 years. They are then blended to a base of 73% rye that is further matured in a solera featuring ex-rum casks from Trinidad, Venezuela, and Jamaica. It is bottled at 95 proof.

Let sit for about a minute. 👀: Pale wheat with golden notes; 👃: Sour notes from the rye, mild caramel; 👅: Immediate baking spices with pepper, honey notes, typical rye funkiness, sweetness from the rum cask definitely evident; 🏁: Lingering taste, sweetness abounds, doesn't have the bite of a young rye but rather the mellowness.

Smooth and mellow. I love Rye finished this way. My favorite, sadly is made anymore. However this is a good replacement.
