This is a "love it" or "hate it" kinda whisky. Very young single malt that provides a lot of burn. It has very deep notes of wood smoke and charcoal. The finish on this single malt is one of the strangest I have ever encountered; it leaves a odd "tingle" on the roof of the mouth for some time after. Very inexpensive so I would recommend every one try it at least once (if you can find it).
Drumguish Whisky
About this bottle
The first single malt expression to be released by Speyside Distillery, Drumguish was later bottled as Glentromie and Spey whisky. Its distiller, George Christie, had established the North of Scotland grain distillery in 1957, but sought to create his own malt distillery. He founded The Speyside Distillery in 1962. Built near Kingussie, the distillery was finished in 1987, but whisky production didn't begin until three years later in 1990. Drumguish is a single malt Scotch whisky bottled at an ABV of 40%.
