Eau Claire Distillery Rupert's Exceptional Canadian Whisky

Eau Claire is a fantastic craft distillery. I was very excited when I saw the price on this release thinking, finally an affordable Eau Claire! Working through the bottle, I must say it is a bit metallic on the palate, and the flavours are mostly general Canadian sweet, light, approachable whisky. If you don't get the metallic note, I think this would end up being a great Canadian. As it is, it's very similar to Forty Creek Copper pot.

I like it. Floral, butterscotch, not smooth like crown royal but a good whiskey if you like corn, rye. It’s not the sweet ones you look for but good. Dates and popcorn.

Smooth easy drinking spirit for the price.

Buttered popped corn on the palate.
