Very tasty, delicate, balanced, refined nose of light juniper, fruity grapes, fresh herbs and a hint of flowers, unfortunately a little too stingy for neat enjoyment, tonic largely washes out the fragile profile. Would've liked to recommend it either neat or with tonic purely by how nice the nose is, but alas I can't.
About this bottle
This is certainly one of the most innovative gins on the market. First, the sheer number of local (many actually grown on the estate) botanicals at 30 is certainly noteworthy, but even more striking is the infusion of Riesling wine from the Zilliken estate — one of Germany’s premier winegrowers in one of Germany’s premier wine-growing regions. Certainly not a typical gin recipe, but fiercely loyal to their vision of strict regionalism.

Very floral and aromatic but also herbal and earthy. The melange of botanicals is not muddled, as I was expecting, but instead is a knife edge balancing act. “Poor man’s Monkey 47” the hawker said. After some skepticism I am warming to the idea, but this is its own (refined) beast of a gin.
Really good sipping gin. Rich, oily amd quite floral.
