Tasted neat from a grappa copita after several minutes rest. This is s a "sample" from a DTC subscription service received as a gift.. On the nose this whiskey has an immediate presence. I got notes of cedar and mothballs, green apple skin, and grape jelly. Quite a lot going on and its good. Mouthfeel of this is acceptably rich, but not up to the hints it gave on a swirl. On the palate this is young and spicy. Cedar, menthol, wood tannin all appear early. The flavor is drying and finishes with a slight tartness that hints at bitter lemon pith. There's a sweet note that rides above all of this, holding it together. This is an interesting whiskey,, but like Lot 40 I think this will be a love it or hate it pour. I like it and I'd definitely have another pour but I don't think it's ultimately good enough to make it to regular rotation.

Bought a bottle. Thought I might hate it. Turns out - it’s not ‘love’ but it’s lots of ‘like’. Chocolate, rye spices, smoke, coffee, vanilla, all kinds of good stuff. For $40+ you got to pick a bottle up. I drink everything neat, as you should as well.
Nose - strong cereal, some sour fruits, sourdough, Palette - toasted whole grain bread, some light green sap notes, a bit of sour tannins, light mouthfeel Finish - dry on your tongue, toasted grains linger though, medium burn
Maple on the nose, Oily viscosity mouth feel that’s very pleasant. Not much flavor on the back half with a fair amount of heat. Once the heat disappears cherry flavors linger for a bit. Fun experience. Thanks Christine.
sweet sweet corn, hickory wood, charcoal cherry, brown sugar, ginger snaps, sugar cookie, caramel corn and apples, molasses, sweet spice, honey graham cracker, a little pencil.
Glove and baking spice on the nose. Same flavor, a bit pungent overall but I could see somebody liking the flavors. Not for me overall
