Nose: Alcohol, sweet, barley/corn, gristy, butter Palate: Alcohol heavy, buttered popcorn, black pepper, spices. This tastes like a spiced vodka. Finish: Very short. Sweet, black pepper, spice. 84% corn, 8% rye, 8% malted barley For an unaged white spirit, this has a creamy mouthfeel. Spicy and buttery, some sweet popcorn hints. Very hot vodka notes, but smoothed out by the creaminess. There are some interesting tequila/mezcal hints, too. Overall, this is sweeter and creamier than many new makes I've tried. Somewhat interesting as far as these white spirits go - more vodka than whisky, but that's to be expected.
About this bottle
This unaged offering from Tennessee whisky maker George Dickel is made from a mash of 84% corn, 8% rye, 8% barley, making it a "corn whiskey." It's an example of what George Dickel tastes like after it's been through charcoal filtration but before it goes into a barrel. White dog like this can provide a look at what the essence of the whisky was before the barrel can make its impressions on the final product.

I kind of feel like I have to review this whiskey in two different ways. As a whiskey in general it’s sweet and mellow, with a little bite at the end, but overall not that much to it. In the quasi-category of un-aged whiskey though it is definitely one of the better ones.
Pretty decent mixer. If drinking neat you get a nice sweet corn flavor and a little heat. I mean for an unaged product its decent.
Smells amazing. Like butter popcorn. Can’t wait to try this as a substitute to vodka and tequila mixed drinks
A short and sweet review. Smells and tastes like buttered popcorn. For what it is its good.
don't care for white whiskey but I was surprised at how smooth this one was
