Glen Fohdry 12 Year Daraich Iapanach Japanese Mizunara Oak Cask Finish

Let sit for about 5 minutes. 👀: Semi dark golden hues with thin legs, some tears remain up top; 👃: Sweet crisp apple on first nose, your typical Scotch with a little more strength; 👅: Interlocking notes of oakiness along with tangy sour gummies, sweetness abounds, vanilla at the back end; 🏁: Short finish with the same crisp bite you get when you first take that sip, you get hit with that oak bite, would be typical Scotch if not for that bite.

A rich, Single Malt Scotch from Speyside, Scotland aged for 12 years in American oak casks before being finish in Japanese Mizunara oak casks. It has an aromatic birth with notes of fruits, citrus, herbs & spices; while a rich & complex life adds notes of orange marmalade, oak, cedar, incense, eucalyptus & cinnamon; that leads to a delicate death with hints of campfire & sea spray. I bought this to see what the Mizunara oak hype is about. Not bad but don’t plan on repeating it.

Light peaty finish and a little warm, but the front and middle have notes of caramel and vanilla

Nice flavor, good finish. Only a little burn going down

Smooth flavor. Low burn. Oaky. Excellent with some ice.
