It’s a delicious whisky, I got it per ralfydotcome recommendation. He thinks it’s so unique that he hasn’t encountered this type of flavor profile in 15yrs. I’m not sure why because it’s got the basic good whisky notes. Smoothly sweet and delicious on the nose, lots of candy/dessert/dry fruit scents, and it’s super smooth down. It’s sweet and fragrant, crepe brûlée comes to mind as one of the dessert tastes, and it’s tasty. It’s a bit simpler of a flavor profile I suppose, but it’s quite delightful and easy to drink. It’s good stuff, not carrying much of the campelton funk like the kilkerran. I will continue to try it and see how it goes over time.
About this bottle
Built in 1832, Glen Scotia is one of the few remaining distilleries in the Campbeltown region of Scotland. Its tiny operation is run by only 3 employees, and they tend to stick to the basics. This malt is their signature release. Note: This bottling has been discontinued and replaced with a new version in 2025.

A perfect balance of salt, malt and sweetness. Like a toffee covered pretzel. Not overly complex, but I love the balance of the malt and the sea.
Maize corn colour. Smooth and sweet, with notes of honey and ripe fruit. Your everyday quaffer.
Caramel sweetness mixes with salty sea spray. One of my favorites.
Smell is sweet and caramelly. Taste is kind of bitter, but mild.
Lots of peat but with sweetness
