An exceptional whiskey, although strong, its alcoholic touch is quickly hidden by a complex layer of flavors where the sweet predominates without being overwhelming. How each batch changes, I can't generalize either, but this batch 9 is wonderfully balanced without losing its special touch. The vanilla enters the nose suddenly with the date, and is quickly lost with some slightly floral notes and a reminiscence of caramel. The palate is very honeyed, creamy, with a sweet touch at the front that transitions to slightly bitter toasted notes that leave an aftertaste of toffee and caramel. There is also a hint of black pepper. In a second sip, toffee takes center stage, and the density makes it even creamier. Despite the alcohol, it goes in easily, very concealed. There is reminiscence of wood and toast in the final notes, which finish the experience perfectly

I have enjoyed quite a few expressions from GlenAllachie this year, and i was specially interested in the Batch Strength series that came out periodically. After having a little dissapointing experience with the awarded Batch 4, this Batch Strength 5 was incredibly better, and actually restored my faith on this high abv, 10 year old releases. Bottled at 55.9%abv, Chesnut color; matured in Px, Oloroso, Rioja and Virgin Oak Casks. On the nose, incredibly winey. A Px explosion, coffee beans, banana, dates. Impalpable sugar, Caramelized apple, candied oranges. After the first sip, it released this "Patron Tequila cafe" note; royal's caramel flan. Acid prunes and dulce de leche. On the palate it was as good as the nose. Oranges, coffee, salt and pepper. Lots of Oloroso sherry profiles, a very fancy caramel. Aftertaste was outstanding. A marvelous well-crafted creamy chocolate,  mild peat, tobacco and salt. It is very delicate and beautiful for a cask strength whisky.  More sips gave me more notes: hazelnut and raisins. Overall, this one was far better than the World Whiskies Awards 2021 winner batch No. 4. I really loved this dram, i believe it to be very complex, not harsh at all, and incredibly enjoyable. My score for this great single Malt is 95 over 100.

Surprisingly smooth undiluted. Sweet up front followed by caramel, cola and toffee.bbthe end has some pepper to it with dark chocolate on the finish. With water, sweeter overall with cayenne pepper and semisweet chocolate at the end finishing with some warmth.

Nose: dark fruit, sherry, burnt sugar, chocolate Palate: chocolate, sherry, red wine, raspberry Finish: bitter chocolate Note: later tastings seemed even better. I originally thought this inferior to batch 3 but side by side tasting changed my mind.

This almost perfect example of excellent sherried whisky . Such a good balance of sweetness , spice , hint of smoke , lots of toffee , caramel and oak . Finished longer and leave u wanting to pour more . Perfect for friday pour / something special .

Amazing. Possibly the very best unpeated single malt scotch I’ve tried. Rich due to no dilution. So many dark fruit flavors. Not a single off note. I drank it without a splash of water and no burn. 10/10
