(Good Spirits Co. Glasgow – Virtual Whisky Tasting, 04 February 2023). Nose: Floral, nutty, hairspray, stone fruits Palate: Sweet, spicy, fruit (redcurrants & cranberries), wood shavings, orange zest, creamy mouthfeel Finish: Long finish. Nutty, blackberries, liquorice, coffee, dark chocolate. Dries on the aftertaste. This is a departure from the typically sherried spirit we expect from GlenAllachie, less sherried and veering towards brandy notes. A pretty decent, if ultimately dry dram Came joint last out of the six drams, with 0% of the final vote for favourite of the night. 64% of those present said they enjoyed the whisky. There were two stand out drams that dominated the voting, so some of the whiskies may have unfairly suffered as a result.
GlenAllachie 2012 Vintage Cuvée Wine Cask Finish
About this bottle
For this release in the Wine Cask Series, Master Blender Billy Walker began with single malt distilled in 2012 which had its primary maturation in American oak ex-bourbon barrels. He selected red wine casks from four European wineries — one each from Valpolicella and the Languedoc, and two from Bordeaux. The single malt then finished its aging for over 20 months in the various barriques before Walker blended and bottled the whisky at 48% ABV. This bottling was announced in late January 2023 with global retailers expected to see the product on its shelves in the coming weeks. (SRP £53.99)

10 años. Ciruela suave la nota pero con gran cuerpo. Mineral. En boca seco con ligera astringencia. Propóleo. Grapa. Equilibrado. Ligera acidez que se marca en el final, aunque suave y corto. Gran maridaje con chocolates.
The nose is beautiful, the flavor just ok. It is helped by the wine
