Howler Head Monkey Spirit

Why am I drinking this? Oh yeah… I got a free sample. On the nose… Yep. There it is. Smells like probably a young bourbon that is masked with a candy banana scent. Like banana runts. On the pallete…  it’s banana up front and then banana at the end. Lol. It’s pretty much one note, but there is this artificial sweetness that permeates. Makes it feel a little bit thick, kind of like Screwball but more artificial tasting.  This is not something I likely would want to return to unless there happens to be a cocktail that a banana spirit with somehow work well inside of.

Monkeys would go crazy for this. Its banana. I woudnt drink this with a human but like if I was with a monkey I would be like, “hold up pal, I got you something.” And we would share it. He could tell me monkey secerts maybe. But yeah, I thought Alpha Dana White would make something to put hair on your chest, but I didn’t think he meant monkey hair! Anyway, can’t wait to try Andrew Tate’s Stawberry prison wine (30 Proof).

Very banana forward obviously but too sweet and syrupy for my taste. Would be good in a cocktail but it wouldn't need much more sugar. Now reviewing from the next morning. I feel like I've eaten an entire loaf of bread. The sugar in this does not make for a good experience. Moving my rating down from 2.5 to 1.75

I don’t like sweet bourbon, which is why I don’t like Angels Envey. However, this bourbon is a great mixer!! I would highly recommend adding it to V8 Splash tropical blend (cold) it’s lights out…literally, you put down a bottle around a fire and not notice it until you stand up.

I like to call this my "party" bourbon. It's approachable enough to drink neat while also making a great cocktail. For my friends that aren't into whiskey like I am (their loss but more for me!) you can do shots of it without grimacing from an artificial cinnamon afterburn.

Yes its flavored. But hear me out. 2 parts Howler Head, 1 part Skrewball. Peanut butter banana deliciousness... I generally don’t drink flavored whiskeys but will definitely keep these stocked for this reason alone... Takes me back to childhood eating PB&B sandwiches...
