Islay Gold 12 Year Sherry Cask Single Malt Scotch

An n intense, Whisky by Ian Macleod Distillers in Islay, Scotland aged for 12 years in oak barrels & then finished in sherry casks. It has an aromatic birth with notes of grain, dried fruit, wood & spice; while a balanced life adds notes of barley & tree fruit; that led to a smoky death of medium length with notes of oak & peat smoke. Day 6 advent calendar. Tried neat. On the nose it’s very fruity with notes of leather and dried fruit. Definitely get the sherry. On the palate it’s spicy with notes of high tobacco as well as wood, grain, peat, and smoke. Sooo smoky on the palate.
