About this bottle

This is the distillery's flagship single malt. It is composed of two single malts — both peated and unpeated — produced onsite. These are separately matured in a combination of American oak ex-rye, Chinkapin, and French ex-Bordeaux red wine casks — the distillery's "Six Cask" recipe. The whiskies are then combined into a lightly peated flavor profile that is bottled non-chill filtered at 46.4% ABV.

Review #297 Whiskey Tour of the World 2025 #6 Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Color: Pale yellow. Palate: Smoke, salt, and a hint of fruit. Palate: Mainly smoke and salt. Finish: Medium length with medium heat. Splash: No new flavors appear. Overall: 8/10 - This drinks like a classic Islay. Nothing groundbreaking, but classic.

It has potential but lacks the sophistication of an aged scotch. Too much alcohol, spike, and spice. I can see it becoming more interesting and enjoyable once it is older. I get the tart flavor of too young whisky, some peat, spice and alcohol burn.

88 points. Nose of marshmellows, campfire and smoked herring. Just nice. The taste profile is a bit simpler, loaded up with caramel. A pleasant scotch. The peat is there in the background.

Immediately the nose is off putting. Bad funk. Taste is better but nothing sticks out. Just decent malt whisky. Little spice. No change with a few drops of water.

Marcel B 4.3

Nose: clearly peaty, but delicate. Fresh. Hint of citrus and tropical fruit. Very nice! Taste : more peaty than the nose indicated! Bit peppery and some coffee.

KoryH 3.8

Dried mango, candied lemon peel, cucumber, light peat that’s complimentary with the sweetness, waxy, slightly floral - hibiscus, no harshness whatsoever.
