The Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Tasters’ Selection is a series of limited release (24,000 bottles), experimental whiskeys. Each bottling is sold exclusively at the distillery and also in select Tennessee liquor stores. Reunion Barrel is Jack aged in barrels that were first used to age Jack Daniel’s, then used for a Tennessee-produced wine, and returned to the Jack Daniel Distillery to finish. Selected by Master Distiller and Master Taster Jeff Arnett. The nose smells of wine, vanilla and butterscotch. The palate is a significant departure from Old Number 7 and is sweet and tastes of cookie dough with a hint of barrel char. The red wine returns in the finish along with wood. While the taste is a distinct departure from Jack’s flagship whiskey, Reunion Barrel is a bit overpriced and not as unique of a taste as the price suggests.
Jack Daniel's Tennessee Tasters' Selection Reunion Barrel #1
About this bottle
Reunion Barrel #1 is made by finishing a whiskey in a barrel which was used to age a Tennessee wine. That wine barrel first aged Jack Daniel's whiskey, hence the name. This is one of the first bottles in the Jack Daniel's Tennessee Tasters' Selection, a limited edition experimental series with bottles chosen by Jack Daniel's own master tasters. This bottling was selected by master distiller Jeff Arnett. Around 24,000 375ml sized bottles were produced. Availability limited to the distillery and select Tennessee retailers from the end of October 2018.

Again, definitely always worth a shot to pick up a JD “craft” whiskey because they do a great job making unique bottles. This one is true to its name - a bourbon with some dried grape / red wine flavors on the back end. Decent juice but not the best of the recent release. I use the rating scale below. Distiller uses a scale of 5 and I use a scale of 10, but I’m sure you’re not too drunk to do the math! 1. Disgusting - So bad I poured it out. 2. Poor - I wouldn't consume by choice. 3. Bad - Multiple flaws. 4. Below average - Not bad, but many things I'd rather have. 5. Good - Just average. 6. Very Good - Better than average. 7. Great - Well above average. 8. Excellent - In a league of its own. 9. Incredible - An all-time favorite. 10. Perfect
This special Tennessee whiskey is a bronze color with thin semi-oily legs. The nose is very fruity with notes of rosé wine, cider, orchard fruit, grape skins, floral honey, sourdough bread, vanilla, and ethanol. The palate is light and fruity and has a watery mouthfeel with notes of apple, green grapes, banana bread, milk chocolate, and tannic oak. The finish is mild, fruity and long, fading slowly. This was a fun taste of experimentation within the Jack Daniel’s distillery. It wasn’t the best whiskey ever, but it was enjoyable and a fruitier expression of the standard whiskey. Thanks Jack! Cheers!
Little spicier than Old No 7. Hints of oak, vanilla, cinnamon. Not bad but not worth the price.
Nose is banana bread with walnuts. Decent one from jack daniels.
