Rating: 11/23 Jack Daniel's sweet banana with honey added? This sounds like it should be a disaster. N: Green banana, some honey that could have been watered down grade A maple syrup, a hint of lemon, and a sharp, light, bitter, harbalness that's almost grassy. A dash of dry wood as well. Unfortunately, also some plain alcohol. P: This is surprisingly OK! The sweet honey actually makes the regular Jack Daniel's sweet banana more acceptable. A bit of just sugar water, but not too much. There's this sweet dessert cocktail sense to this liqueur. I'm also getting a bit of spices with dry wood, which helps to cover the alcohol. There's oddly a bit of a grassy herbal character leading into a bit of peppermintiness. I really didn't see that coming. I actually kind of like it. The more I drink, the more out of whack this palate seems, but it's never bad. F: The sweetness largely fads, leaving the bitter side of the honey with the grassy herbal mintiness and hint of spice. Sort of a manuka honey now, actually. It's weird, but I kind of like this finish. - Conclusion - I thought this would be terrible, but it's actually not bad. If there were just less of that alcohol flavor, this might get a fairly high rating. As it is, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this if I thought of a good cocktail to use it in. As a sipper, I'd definitely prefer Garrison Brothers Honeydew, though the gap between the two is surprisingly minimal (and the Garrison Brothers actually is a bourbon). In my limited attempting here, I couldn't find a cocktail that I thought improved upon its core spirit using this liqueur, so I think I need to land on this being an 11 based on its neat flavor. I could imagine a 12. Still, I was surprised by how good this was. Thanks for sharing this @ctbeck11 !
About this bottle
Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey is made from a blend of Jack Daniel's Tennessee whiskey, which is made from corn, rye and malted barley, and their own honey liqueur. A unique aspect of Jack Daniel's is that whiskey is filtered through 10-foot stacks of sugar maple charcoal to "mellow" it out.

Strong honey notes, full body and caramel after taste but quite “young” in overall presentation. It isnt “bad” overall necessarily but i would argue it is not a whiskey for sipping solo, especially for its price point. What I HAVE found is that it is excellent as a mixer for any cocktail that incorporates whiskey or bourbon along with honey, or need of a caramel flavor. What i have found its primary use is for my Salted honey whiskey salted caramel recipe i make. It is a hit everytime when people can pickup the whiskey and honey notes on the finish. And its addition at the end to the molten sugar seems to cook off any unpleasant volatile flavors and actually improves it. Recipe located here: https://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/salted-whiskey-caramels/f99a3a51-1115-4b69-b291-11b479bba7db Note: use only about 2/3 the water mentioned and replace it with more heavy cream. And heat to “hardball” stage or just above. Your adjustments may need to vary by elevation.
Review #18 - Liqueur #4 Nose - presents a soft, pleasant aroma dominated by honey and vanilla, with a mild bourbon presence in the background. Palate - it is very smooth, with a rather heavy taste, sweetness from the honey, with a slight nutty undertone. Obviously it is an easy drinking, one-dimensional whiskey liqueur, yet the heaviness is somewhat surprising. Finish - short-medium with a relatively oily texture. It is smooth and approachable for beginners, however, it is not something I am personally inclined to drink.
Some might call BS for this review but I am a sucker for anything sweet. I love eating honey straight out of the jar. If you do the same, you might like this. Tastes like straight honey and liquor combined. Not even a honey undertaste. Just honey. I was pleasantly suprised. Exactly what I was hoping for. Purchased multiple bottles and has been a favorite I have shared with friends and ordered shots at bars. Probably my go-to at this point. Call me basic. Its cheap and sweet!
Um licor doce, bem interessante, marcante com a presença do Jack Daniels, n justifica o preço acima de 120 reais, difícil. Mas enfim, sabemos que Jack é marketing também, e é um whisky mediano, mas gostoso.
I tasted this for the first time with ice. I was surprised by its sweetness and smooth taste. Maybe too sweet and it lacked the bite of JD whiskey. A decent and tasty whiskey for cocktails.
