So, I’ll be honest and confess that I am trying my best to try to like bourbon because my husband enjoys it so much, but most everyone I’ve tried really does taste pretty much exactly the way imagine gasoline or lighter fluid would taste. Over ice, of course. I am typically more of a gin or vodka person but I tried it on a whim in a cocktail at a restaurant l and I must say that I really did enjoy it! I was very pleasantly surprised because I really have tried a bunch of different bourbons - enough to be able to distinguish between ryes and wheats (My husband thinks it’s fun to have me do taste tests to see all the differences in them. They still end up tasting like either rye or wheat flavored turpentine to me though... IDK). But I have now tried a couple of different mixed drinks and just on the rocks and I am actually still surprisingly happy with the taste. I can’t decide if this makes me a person of discerning tastes or if it just proves that I can only drink something with an umbrella in it. I’m probably committing some sort of bourbon sacrilege but admitting that I like it but so be it. I may not know what’s good but I know what I like. And I like this stuff.

AROMA/b Wonderful, Sweet, Green Apples FIRST SIP/ Wonderful, Sweetness, Green Apples TASTE/ Wonderful, Green Apples, Smoothness, Sweetness in the way of a liquor would be. FINISH/ Geen Apples, Sweet, Smoothness, with the ever so Slightest Spice. 70 proof This is their JB blended with an Apple 🍎 Liquor... (that should be a green apple BTW). This is a great drink for any occasion... my Dad (JMM) would wonder what happened to his regular JB and he'd ask his why do you drink that? LOL. BLENDING MY OWN WHISKEY! .5 oz of Southern Car a Mel 1.25 oz of JB Apple 🍎 again this should be green but I digress. 2 oz of Gentleman Jack = TASTY Drink your beverage carefully and be reasonable! Part of a sample Jim Beam 12 Days of Christmas pack sampler. Fourth of the 12. Quick hit review. Apple juice, green apple Jolly Rancher, Midori liqueur. Apple aromas as advertised. The arrival is liquid green apple Jolly Rancher with a touch of white pepper and cherry cough syrup. The cherry cough syrup rides the finish with a drying oak tannins. So far, this was the most tolerable of the Jim Beam samples thus far. A spicy liquid jolly rancher most definitely designed as a mixer and not to be taken as a serious sipper. [Tasted: 12/9/20]

Dear god, this is terrible. I feel like I have a stomach ache from just drinking one sip of it. The nose is way too obnoxious. We get the point... it’s an apple flavored whiskey. The taste is so syrupy. It’s so concentrated and sweet, there’s also this musty note to it. I literally couldn’t bring myself to take another sip of it. I know that this is a flavored whiskey and that I wouldn’t like it, but wow... it’s bad. If you’re looking for a better version of this that is actually a complex whiskey, try Clyde May’s Alabama Style Whiskey

On the nose there is honey and apples, but wrapped in a waxy envelope that takes it from inviting to slightly off putting. The palate is what would happen if NyQuil decided to make an apple flavour. Sweet, syrupy apples and honey. Nothing surprising here. There is no finish but were you expecting one? Shame on you. Whatever you do don’t try this neat or diabetes is sure to follow.. lots of ice in a rocks glass, let it dilute a bit and it will pass as a summer drink

Wtf is this? Beam Suntory should be ashamed of themselves. This shouldn’t be associated with whiskey in any way. This jolly rancher liqueur is sickeningly cloying and is reminiscent of cough syrup. The Jim Beam/Jack Daniels/Wild Turkey Brands should stop doing this sh*t and stick to bourbon. Bourbon is awesome and doesn’t need to be doctored with candy flavors to be palatable. If people need these kiddy flavors to enjoy alcohol, perhaps they should stick to soda.
