An intense, handcrafted, organic, Bourbon Whiskey by Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks, Michigan. It is crafted with locally grown organic white corn, wheat & rye, Midwestern oak barrels & water from a local aquifer; before being bottled at 100 proof. It has an aromatic birth with notes of grain, wood, fruits; herbs & spices; while a bold life adds notes of corn, vanilla & citrus; that led to a complex death of medium length with notes of pepper, oak & tobacco. Its slightly abrasive on the nose, but Im getting light vanilla to it - its not an overpowering sweetness, but it is present. I feel like Im getting a light appley sweetness to it as well - like fresh sweetness. Got little bit of heat to it on the palate, And im getting a strong baking spice taste to it, like a peppery cinnamon flavor. I do enjoy how it carries into the back half and finish, though, its got some staying power. An enjoyable sip but a little pricey for what you get.

Interesting enough. This is sweet and a bit tart all together! I like the viscosity level it brings. I’m getting some faint floral notes: reminds me potentially of rose/orange water. Its paired with a balanced mind-palate of vanilla, frosted flakes, and hints of buttercream. The finish is wild.. that tartness comes in. Not to be to weird, but theres a tart orange and grapefruit presence here along with some faint baking spices.

On the nose: peanut, caramel, oak, sandalwood, medicinal cherry On the palate: thick mouthfeel, caramel, cherry, light oakiness and a cedar note, and root beer On the finish: still sweet, but more herbal notes and some sourness push through. Getting some peanuts on the aftertaste too Overall: A good craft offering. Not blowing me away, but it’s promising. With some more age this could be something

Very pleasant aroma! Tried it neat and then with some ice chips. First, it has some spice on the mouthfeel but not in the overall taste. The ice cuts down the initial spice but moves it to the back of the mouth for a brief second and disappears. I would keep this one on hand. The high corn and wheat provides a sweetness that I like.

An interesting bourbon. Notes of a woody corn come to mind but truly nothing distinguishes itself out front. Some hints of a possible floral flavor far on the backside. I will say there is a flavor that steps out at the beginning but i just cannot make that identification.
