Rating the rum cask because for some reason peat is duplicated. Coconuts and banana on the first nose and then golden straw and honey on the body

Found only at Kavalan's Spirit Castle, their distillery's visitor center, is the Distillery Reserve Peaty Cask release from the Taiwanese whisky producer. It offers a prophecy of things to come, as well as an intermediate way-station, as Kavalan is currently aging whisky distilled from a peated mash bill. Review from bottle 191 of 289. Subtle cigar smoke, carmelized tropical fruit, quite spirited, long finish of sweet maple syrup covered ham.
Peat is barely there. Flavorful, but there's a bit of heat and a hint of bitterness at the end.
Full, rich and sweet. Peaty, but not too much. Very smooth Kavalan. Tasted from Carlo's stash
