Like the 86 proof version, this Irish + American Whiskey is made with the following whiskey styles: Irish triple-distilled pot still whiskey (malted & unmalted barley), Irish grain whiskey (corn/maize), and American rye whiskey (made with 95% rye). Each of these whiskeys were aged over 4 years, the Irish whiskeys in refill bourbon barrels and the rye in virgin American oak. N: light floral/fruity, leather, wooden workbench with open paints P: light, delicately sweet vanilla cream, rye spice (less intense than the 86 proof surprisingly), cloves F: nice oak and rye spice This drinks much lower than 110 proof. Interesting but not overly complex. Much prefer it to the 86 proof version. Might open up a bit with time. Got it at a good price.
Like “peppered bacon and pancakes” as my brither says. Hes not wring. Very tasty! This is the one finished in Madeira barrels, single barrel edition specifically bottled for The Stanley Hotel.
It is amber with an aroma of vanilla and wet cardboard. The flavor is heavy on oak tannins and vanilla. It is spicy but smooth.
Nice cask strength. Spicy on the palette, nice finish, relatively smooth given the 55% ABV
