Laphroaig 2006 Highgrove Cask 500155

An old school Laphroaig for sure. Wise beyond its years with rich viscosity and light tropical fruits to complement a more earthy peat note. Tried the 2019 edition.

Nose: smoke, subtle iodine, citrus, herbal, vanilla. Palate: smoke,brine, citrus,mint, green apple, fresh grass. Finish: medium, warming, sweet/salty vanilla.

This is one of those limited whiskeys for which you pay in price but which doesn’t really beat the standards, like the 10 year old or the Lore.
