Review #299 Whiskey Tour of the World 2025 #7 Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Color: Medium amber. Nose: Grape, plum, cherry, raisin, a faint note of citrus. Palate: Medium mouthfeel with more fruit and a bit of spice. Finish: The spice lingers for a medium length with medium heat. Splash: The spice becomes more prominent as the other flavors become more muted. Overall: 9/10 - I’ve had plenty of oloroso and sherry finished single malts before, so I was expecting more of the same, but this is something altogether different. Think brandy finished in ex-bourbon barrels. This was such a unique and refresching take on a single malt, I’d like to try their other expressions. Only a higher proof/longer finish could improve this dram.
