An intense, American Small Batch Gin by Todd & Scott Leopold in Colorado. It has an herbal and floral birth, while a complex life adds notes of botanicals, spices, pine & citrus zest; that led to a long & zesty death with notes of juniper & acacia. September 2018 / January 2019
About this bottle
In 1999, brothers Todd and Scott Leopold founded Leopold Bros. as a brewery based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In 2001, they began producing spirits and in 2008, they moved their distillery to their home state of Colorado. With Todd's knowledge in brewing and alcohol production and Scott's expertise in sustainable manufacturing processes, Leopold Bros takes pride in creating eco-friendly products, including their American Small Batch Gin. Each botanical, including juniper, coriander, pummelos, orris root and Valenica oranges, are distilled individually with the base spirit. These botanical distillates are then blended together and bottled at 40% ABV.

My favorite gin of all time. Floral, herbaceous, not overly juniper. Todd distills each ingredient on its own before blending so nothing is over extracted. This stuff is delicate, delicious, and very thoughtful.
Fantastic nose with fruit and herbs and pine. Body is moldy fruity with a quick alcohol heavy end.
Partnered product at Total Wine, so it must be good
Subtle floral note
Lots of citrus
