Vanilla, fruity, and rye. Super smooth and not as spicy as most rye’s—just enough for a nice balance. This has a nice balance of spicy/sweet and would be a good first rye for a usual bourbon drinker.
About this bottle
This release from McClintock Distilling is made as an homage to Maryland's rye whiskey history. The mash bill contains non-GMO grown rye, red wheat, and corn that are ground in house with a vintage stone burr mill prior to fermentation and distillation. It is bottled at 90 proof.

Currently my favorite Rye coming out of Maryland. I cant believe how smooth this goes down for a 2YO. Info says they are aging in a 30 gallon barrel with a 75% Rye 20% Wheat 5% Corn mash bill.
Sweet caramel, dark berries, and baking spice on the nose. Sweet and rich flavor, with notes of Christmas pudding, clove, banana, and vanilla. Smooth and well rounded!
So smooth. Definitely less black pepper than your usual rye and instead finishes with really nice dark fruit and caramel notes.
not unpalatably harsh like other ryes. you can sip it! nice sweetness
Nice; however, in the end, it is okay—too much flavor of alcohol.
