i’m a whiskey guy…. but this is the absolute best you’re gonna find on a shelf if you need an easy to make / easy to please cocktail for company. mix midori, pineapple juice, & vodka (stoli is my go-to). you won’t be dissapointed. this recipe is sort of a play on a ‘melonball’. . .maybe this one has a name already, but who cares… get it for ppl who like to drink tasty things, fruity drinks, or ppl who don’t normally drink - bc they’ll love this. my second go-to liquer after this, is disaronno. although it’s great for certain simple cocktails as well, this amaretto tends to give heartburn in my experience.

This takes me right back to Japan every time I drink it. Sweet, aromatic, a bit musky (probably the musk melon), but a bit syrupy. Drink it straight up, on the rocks, use it as a mixer for a visually brilliant cocktail, or if you want my personal favorite: just mix it with some soda water and drink it cold. It'll taste just like the melon fanta they have in Japan.

Tastes like melon, not really something you drink on the rocks but works great with curaçao and ginger ale for a super sweet summer cocktail, or you can cut down the curaçao or replace it with lemon juice for a more fruity yet slightly sweet and very refreshing beverage.

Looneyhead 1.8

Intriguing bright green that turns yellow around the edges depending on the light. Sweet, candy-like aroma of melon, green apple, banana. Sweet, sugary taste. A lot in common with cough syrup and Pepto Bismol, this needs to be mixed.

Green Kool-Aid Jammer (Strawberry and Kiwi) with Honeydew and Hard Candy on the nose, medical, children’s cough syrup on the palate, finish is sticky sweet. Consumed over crushed ice.

On its own, Midori is interesting, but not amazing. However when it comes to mixing drinks, I think Midori is *the* melon liqueur to use.
