About this bottle

Monte Sachs, the founder and distiller of Catskills Distilling Co., became interested in distilling while he was a veterinary student in Italy where he learned how to produce grappa from a local farmer. Mr. Lincoln Henderson, formerly of Brown-Forman and creator of brands Woodford Reserve and Gentleman Jack, was an adviser and taught Sachs how to accelerate the aging process in whiskey. This two year old bourbon is sold in 375 ml bottles.

I laughed when I saw the creamed corn, but it’s true. Creamed corn and alcohol. Thin, no real finish to speak of. Not sure what to say here. I don’t hate it, but feel like the presentation doesn’t match the product. Beautiful packaging, small, boutique-y. But inside is a 2 year low proof offering. It’s not bad at all for what it is. Not great for what it is presented as. Would like to see what they could do with some time.

Like all NEW YORK distiller bourbons I have tried so far, it lacks depth and in my opinion, is very young tasting and way over priced. There is a strong alcohol smell initially on the nose which masks all other smells. It taste like watered down corn syrup. Long burn. Limited flavor profile. May be better after aged a few more years

I get the basic cheap bourbon flavors from this. Cotton candy and bubble gum. This whisky is young and aggressive. The price does not reflect what you are getting. This is a $8-13 bottle. Not the $28 they are charging.

Thought it was Jack Daniels when I first smelled and tasted it. Definitely get the caramel and a leathery nose. Pretty good.

Flavor profile is very young, with intense alcohol on the nose. Would drink in a cocktail. Had at shot Donna's house.
