The Distillers Edition is an annual limited edition series from Diageo featuring select single malt Scotch whisky distilleries in their portfolio. Each release is double matured (finished) in a selected cask. For Oban, Montilla fino fortified wine casks are used. Distilled in 2005, this release was bottled in 2019 at 86 proof.

I’ve been an Oban fan for awhile and was excited to try this. I wasn’t disappointed. A unique mix of dried fruit, salt, chocolate, and leather with a strong sherry presence. It walks a fine line with its complexity, successfully balancing the crisp saltiness I’m used to with an Oban while adding in hints of fruit and sherry. Smooth, light, crisp and fruity. A very good dram.
Sweet with caramel undertones, slightly salty finish. Well rounded whisky!
Sea salt. Sweet like candy. Lasts for a long time.
