This as much flavor as I’ve ever got out of a 100 proof bourbon. This has it all, wonderful nose, coating mouthfeel, complex palate, and almost perfect finish. I get some fruitiness, honey, oak and a little leather that seems to go from nose to finish. The way the flavors mingle together really stands out. The only knock on this bourbon is that the finish is medium short, although it is extremely pleasant with no hint of ethanol. I’m a proof hound, but this is as good as a bourbon gets at 50% abv.

The nose has pleasant oak up front that is met with cinnamon, with smooth vanilla and caramel and a slight fruitiness in the background. The oak and cinnamon mix very pleasantly on the palate with it leaning more towards cinnamon, as the vanilla and caramel keep it balanced. Oak lingers in the mouth while the cinnamon fades and keeps the mouth tingling for a nice long finish.
Sweet maple syrup nose. Sweetness continues all the way through on the palate along with a cherry fruitiness and cinnamon. Very little burn. Reminds me of Old Forester Birthday Bourbon. No need to ice or water this one down. A solid bourbon.
Complicated and well balanced maple, char, spices. Could drink all day. Sweet but not too sweet.
Full flavor and very well balanced. The 100 proof ABV lends to a great drinking experience.
