About this bottle

This expression is made from Heaven Hill's wheated bourbon mash bill (75% corn, 20% wheat, 5% malted barley) that is matured a minimum of 16 years in a bonded warehouse. Bottled at 100 proof, it was released as a distillery only exclusive in the spring of 2020 in limited quantities.

On the nose, strong notes of butterscotch, vanilla and toasted oak mixed with fainter notes of chocolate covered oranges and strawberry jam. Very pleasant. The palate starts out with creamy caramel and vanilla before fading to more floral and citrusy notes like rose and lemon. The finish is rather muted for a 100 proof bourbon that is well-aged, but what does come to expression is a new oak and barrel char, leather and earthy tobacco notes. A few drops of water bring the oak more forward in the palate and sweeten the bourbon with more vanilla notes. A cinnamon spice presents itself in the finish. Overall, it's great bourbon. Its unique like the rest of the decanter series, but this one just doesn't stand out clearly like the 13 year and 14 year.

Neat. Nose is butterscotch and oak. Taste is sweet caramel up front with a little spice then a sweet finish with a little lingering spice. My favorite of the old Fitzgerald I’ve tried.

Just beautiful. Sitting at the Distillery in Kentucky. High spice and warming. Dark brown sugar, caramel and all the spices. Big warming hug without being hot. Special to have

I really like this apples raisins Carmel vanilla but a ton of oak. Not gonna lie a little bitter but a good pour. Probably not worth the price.

Nutty taste, very smooth, clean taste. Little kentucky hug at the end. Drank with Christina at Heaven Hill Distillery for a tasting

Nose of butterscotch, barrel spices and some oak. Smooth finish with a hint of chocolate. Very good but aged a few years past prime.
