One Eight Distilling Untitled Whiskey No. 17

This batch is a 10 year old wheated bourbon finished in rum, Calvados, and Cognac, then blended with 14 year old bourbon finished in Amontillado sherry. Aroma is fantastic with all the finishes providing a big fruitiness. Dark fruits and berries jump out of the glass with some baking spices and oak in the background. Flavor has that similar fruitiness but it's toned down a bit, rather, it's balanced by the barrel spice and oak. I thought this would be way too sweet given all the finishes and use of wheated bourbon but I was pleasantly surprised that the bourbon backbone was not lost.
