The Bottle: A fairly classy design of clear glass with a green and white label. It doesn't stand out, but it's not instantly forgettable either. It's perfectly serviceable. In the Glass: Clear and rather thin. Not as viscous as some other gins or vodkas that I've come across. On the Nose: The 47%abv is noticeable here. The alcohol is the dominant player here, but there is a good floral/pepper note underneath as is befitting a London Dry. This is a straight-forward and uncomplicated spirit. Taste: The arrival and development are actually quite smooth, with sweet and peppery herbal notes. It isn't overly peppered or junipered or anything else, the balance seems nicely struck. The finish is where the alcohol strength comes back a bit, but it's fairly tame for the %. I wouldn't recommend this as a sipper per se, but it will bring a good backbone to any gin-based cocktail.
Oxley Classic English Dry Gin
About this bottle
Released in 2009, Oxley is a premium gin produced at the Thames Distillery and is owned by Bacardi. Following a 15-hour maceration with the base spirit, the 14 botanical ingredients - juniper, grapefruit, lemon, oranges, meadowsweet, vanilla, aniseed, orris root, licorice root, cocoa, grains of paradise, cassia bark, nutmeg and coriander - undergo a unique "cold vacuum" distillation. The botanicals are placed in a vacuum-still at such a low air pressure that they distill at sub-freezing temperature. This protects the botanicals from being harmed from the hotter temperatures if they underwent a normal distillation process. After distillation, the gin is then bottled at 47%.

This crystal clear London Dry is a bit pungent but not overwhelming. Lot’s of flavor, complexity and heat. Juniper, lemon, black pepper, eastern spices. It’s like something different with every sip with a long, lingering and hot finish
Very intense, fresh flavours that hit you in a flash. Very junipery, hints of peppers, liquorice, and orange. Nose is sweet and citrusy, and pleasant on the tongue and nose.
a little too rubbing alcohol-ish for me. better gins at this price point
Really like the subtlety of the flavours here. Prefer it with Med
Clean taste. Definitely a gin. But subtle
