Penelope Toasted Barrel Strength Bourbon Char 5, Heavy Toast

First pour of this bottle. Heard great things so was eager to crack it open. Wasn’t overly impressed with the first sip. Seemed a bit all over the place and I couldn’t get a good read on tasting notes. I sat it down and came back 15-20 minutes later and it seemed to open up and was better. Maybe it was my palate adjusting from dinner, who knows. Looking forward to trying it again in a couple of days.

Nose: grain and oak Palate: sweet caramel and oak. Grain on the finish
