About this bottle

This limited edition navy rum was created by Maison Ferrand owner and Planteray Master Blender Alexandre Gabriel. Four aged Caribbean rums were used for this bottling, each one aged in ex-bourbon barrels in the countries of origin — Barbados, Trinidad, Guyana, and Jamaica. The rums then were transported to France via ship where they were double aged in used oak barrels. Bottled at 55.7% ABV, it's available nationwide beginning July 2024. (SRP $36)

Toby 3.5

Aromas of tropical fruit that's fallen from the tree and decaying on the ground, along with overripe banana. Reminds me of a path we take from the road, through a forest where fruits hang from the trees and litter the ground, that opens to a small bay in Maui. Seriously tropical. The higher proof isn't as strong as an overproof, which makes sipping more tolerable. So, with the higher alcohol comes that familiar cinnamon flavor, which is strongly present. Generic "tropical fruits" and banana come to mind describing the flavors. I can't break the flavors down more, wish I could, but I wasn't blessed with good taste buds and sense of smell...despite my big shnoz! Mixing with cola is excellent. Honestly though, the aroma of this Caribbean elixir is the winner for me. Rating based on neat sipping.
