I’ve been told the 27 year is amazing, which is why I wanted to try this. I’m glad I got a sample of it instead of buying a bottle. Tastes like halfway between a Scotch whisky and a 90ish proof bourbon. Not much flavor nor complexity. More burn than flavor.

12 year batch B2/19. ABV 55.8% Cask Strength. Tasted in a rocks glass with a bit of filtered water. Very smooth, mildly oily mouthfeel, caramel, dark fruit, hint of citrus, light toffee. This is a great whiskey.
Batch B2/19 111.6 proof - Buttery smooth on the nose and a touch of sweet fruit on first taste with subtle spice on the finish - started neat and added a drop of water to continue but really enjoying this RB
Very tannic, perhaps too much sherry influence, almost mutes the charm of redbreast. Notes of red fruits, hints of Christmas cake, dark chocolate and coffee.
Nose: fruity candy, syrup, grains Taste: mint, spearmint/wintergreen, velvet but gives a numbness to the tongue Finish: long creamy lasting hot tart
Nose: Peaches and cream, Vanilla Palate: Shortbread, Vanilla bomb, Subtle oak Finish: sherried dark fruits, oak spice
